This past Saturday "Suga" Rashad Evans defeated Quinton "Rampage" Jackson via unanimous decision with the judges scoring the bout 29–28, 30–27, 30–27. With this win Evans has been given the chance to face the new UFC light heavy champion Mauricio "Shogun" Rua in the near future. Of course, Evans was ecstatic due to the fact that he won the fight after months of trash talking and threats of knock outs from both corners. Rampage was however wasn't as ecstatic as Rashad as you can imagine. After all he was defeated by an opponent that, as he said, wasn't on his level.

At the UFC 114 press conference Rampage said one of the reasons that he lost the fight was due to the fact that he did the A- Team movie (coming out this summer) and he developed a case of ring rust(ring rust occurs when a fighter hasn't fought in a while and even after a good training camp can't perform at his or hers greatest potential ) and I agree with Rampage totally. He was out of the octagon for months at a time due to the A-Team movie and I do think that he wasn't at his full potential when he face Rashad Saturday. I think if Rampage had a few warm up fights or hadn't done the movie at all that he would have been more in tuned with the fight.  

At the press conference, when asked if there was still hostility between the two fighters, Rampage joyfully answered "Rashad can still kiss my @$$, I'm not a sore loser or nothing but he can still kiss my black @$$." Rashad felt the same way about Rampage when he was asked the same question seconds later replying in the same manner a Rampage, "I fell the same way man, he can kiss my @$$ to." Even with a room full of reporters, journalist and winning fighters from the main event fights filled with laughter it was apparently clear that there would be many more matches between Rampage and Rashad to come.
